Quick Facts about Boston

Brothers,

CNN is helping us promote convention today!!

Under the travel section, CNN had two articles, one on "Historic Boston on the Cheap",
http://www.cnn.com/2008/TRAVEL/getaways/10/30/budget.boston.ap/index.html
.

Followed by another on how the airlines are cutting holiday travel fares,
http://www.cnn.com/2008/TRAVEL/10/30/airlines.holiday.fares.ap/index.html.

If you know of anyone who is "on the fence" about coming to convention, please forward these links to them.
Boston is a great city and now it's getting cheaper to get here as well!

Also, please remember that the early registration deadline is approaching fast!  Please remind the active brothers and volunteers you work with to register before November 10 to take advantage of the $10 savings.

Thanks again for your help in promoting convention!

Yours in Leadership, Fellowship & Service,
George Kober

More Info:

The city is divided into many neighborhoods. Alston/Brighton is populated mostly by students from nearby Boston University, Boston College and recent graduates. The Back Bay, west of the Public Garden, includes the shops and restaurants on Newbury Street and the two tallest skyscrapers in Boston. Dorchester is probably the most diverse Boston neighborhood being populated with every ethnic group. South Boston, next to Dorchester, is primarily comprised of Irish-Americans. The South End, south of the Back Bay, is noted for its restaurant scene and bohemian atmosphere. Roxbury and Mattapan, located south of downtown, are populated largely by African Americans and Hispanics, as well as middle-class families priced out of more expensive neighborhoods. Other neighborhoods include: Bay Village, Beacon Hill, Charlestown, Chinatown, East Boston, Jamaica Plain, Fenway/Kenmore Sq., the North End, Hyde Park, Roslindale, and West Roxbury.
