There are several Nationally-sponsored programs that Alpha Phi Omega chapters participate in. National Service Week takes place during the first week of November of each year, Spring Youth Service Day takes place in mid-April of every year, and Absolutely Incredible Kid Day takes place in mid-March of every year.
The National Service Committee also sponsors Youth Service Grants, which award up to $500 annually to chapters for performing youth-related service projects. Youth Service Grant applications are usually due at the end of January. Please stay tuned to this website for more information on applying for one of these grants. You can view the Service committee members here.

Alpha Phi Omega has designated the first week of November as, "National Service Week," to unify Chapters with a national theme and to inspire expansion of chapter service programs. During this week, every chapter is encouraged to carry out a new, high profile service project related to the program of emphasis and involving other chapters and the community.

Alpha Phi Omega's Spring Youth Service Day (which can also be thought of as, "Spring Youth Service Weekend", or SYSD) is held annually during one weekend in April, in conjunction with the National program of our partner organization, Youth Service America. The last Spring Youth Service Day was on April 24-26, 2009. SYSD is Alpha Phi Omega's way of participating in the largest service event in the world.

The 2010 Alpha Phi Omega Youth Service Grant Program is here and it’s a chance for your chapter to apply for a grant of $100-$500 to help you perform a service project benefiting pre-college-age youth! The grant application and instructions are enclosed.
Chapters may also utilize this database to store information about additional service projects that do not necessarily fall into the NSW or SYSD category (other projects). The plan is for Alpha Phi Omega members to utilize this database to share information on service projects in their efforts to plan their own projects, either for NSW, SYSD, or any other project. For additional instructions and information on making the most out of this database, please review this document (PDF)
These forms should be used by chapters to submit mandatory project reports for National Service Week (November) and Spring Youth Service Day (April). You can also submit photo's or video links as well as other service projects that your chapter may sponsor for inclusion in the national service project database or for publications such as our Web site or Chapter E-Newsletter.
