Our Programs
our National programs
While in College, there are many things to consider before
selecting which organization to join.
Where do I fit
in? What can I bring
to an organization? Does
this organization meet my values and expectations?
Alpha Phi Omega offers students a wide variety of ways to get
involved on their campus, community and even their nation.
There are many key aspects to consider when deciding which student
organization to participate in...
In APO you:
have
an opportunity to improve, sharpen and utilize your Leadership skills.
- establish and maintain Friendships by connecting you with other students who
have similar ideas and goals. Not only will you learn from
each other, but you can also develop friendships that last a
lifetime!
- offer Service
to and for your campus, community and even our nation!
Our programs are grouped into eight categories according to
their main purpose. Any of these areas are available for our
members & volunteers...
Our Programs include:
- Alumni
Relations and Internal Volunteer Development
This committee coordinates all alumni affairs of the
Fraternity, to promote continued alumni interest in the
Fraternity's ideals and programs. The committee initiates,
coordinates, recruits, develops retention and recognition programs
for volunteers to work within and for the Fraternity.
- Finance and
Operations
The Finance and Operations committee proposes the
ways and means to adequately finance the Fraternity, to propose
expenditures through annual budget recommendations and a written
report, to oversee and coordinate the Fraternity's fund-raising
programs and activities, to evaluate recommendations, advice and
counsel.
- International
Relations
The International Relations Committee is charged with maintaining
relationships with Alpha Phi Omega organizations and interests
outside of the borders of the United States. It is also responsible
for leading the effort to establish Alpha Phi Omega of
Canada.
- Membership and
Extension
The Membership and Extension committee promotes
and encourages programs and activities that serve and support
chapters, to promote and encourage programs and activities for the
enhancement of membership recruitment, retention and reporting in
the Fraternity, to promote and encourage programs and services for
chapter advisors, to promote and encourage the reactivation of
inactive chapters and the formation of new chapters.
- Scouting and
Youth Service
The Scouting and Youth Service committees advise the relations
between the Fraternity and youth service organizations; to offer
suggestions to enable the Fraternity to be of greater service to
youth; and to promote interest in Alpha Phi Omega among
professional and volunteer leaders of youth-service
organizations.
- Service
The Service Committee develops a two-year National Service Program
for consideration and action by the biennial National Convention,
to stimulate effective and well-rounded service programs by
instigating resource development and distribution; to encourage
high-quality chapter service programs through an effective program
of promotion and recognition of chapter service activities,
opportunities and incentives; and to coordinate the Fraternity's
you-service activities.
